On January 1 we officially welcomed Magaly Peralta to our Board of Directors. This is an important milestone for Somos Amigos, in that we now formally have a representative from the community adding her voice to the highest level conversations regarding our organization.
El 1 de enero dimos oficialmente la bienvenida a Magaly Peralta a nuestra Junta Directiva. Es un hito importante para Somos Amigos, ya que ahora tenemos formalmente a una representante de la comunidad sumando su voz a las conversaciones de más alto nivel sobre nuestra organización.
Magaly has lived in El Naranjito her entire life. With Ernesto by her side, she has raised her family there. They have also opened their home to the Somos Amigos family, hosting volunteers for more than a quarter of a century. Magaly has been the teacher in the local school, El Centro Educativo El Naranjito Somos Amigos, for 29 years.
She has also been instrumental in every chapter of the evolution of Somos Amigos since our inception, and we are grateful.
Magaly ha vivido en El Naranjito toda su vida. Con Ernesto a su lado, ha criado allí a su familia. También han abierto su hogar a la familia Somos Amigos, hospedando voluntarios por más de un cuarto de siglo. Magaly ha sido maestra en la escuela local, El Centro Educativo El Naranjito, durante 29 años. Ha sido también fundamental en cada capítulo de la evolución de Somos Amigos desde nuestros inicios, y estamos agradecidos.
